For nearly four decades, Duncan Williams has refined the art of winemaking in Temecula Valley. Known for his elegant, balanced, and food-friendly wines, Duncan’s philosophy is simple: exceptional wines begin in the vineyard.
“I like to be involved in the vineyard to know what I’m getting because the potential is established there — then it’s my job to create something truly beautiful,” Duncan says. “I’m not a musician or a painter, but my creative outlet is making really beautiful wine.”

From Napa to Temecula: A Lifelong Dedication to Wine
Before joining Falkner, Duncan honed his craft at some of California’s most respected wineries — including Robert Mondavi, Montevina, and Shenandoah Vineyards. His 14 years as Cellarmaster at Shenandoah and Sobon Estate gave him a deep understanding of small-lot production and vineyard management.
In 2001, Duncan spearheaded vineyard expansion at Fallbrook Winery, where he helped the brand gain national recognition and awards. Today, as Falkner’s winemaker, he continues to elevate Temecula Valley’s reputation for world-class wines through his thoughtful blending and innovative techniques.
